Confidentiality and Ethics
Confidentiality and safety are crucial in therapy. I uphold these principles and in accordance with the United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) code of ethics, I maintain complete confidentiality with the following exceptions:
- I am required to discuss my work with my supervisor who is a qualified psychotherapists. My supervisor supports and advises me in my clinical practice as a trainee psychotherapist. My relationship with my supervisor is also confidential.
- Where there is a risk of harm to self or others.
As a trainee psychotherapist in advanced training I may ask you if I can digitally audio record some of our sessions. The purpose of these recordings would be to enhance my learning and help in my academic studies as I have case studies and in depth assignments to complete. Your confidentiality will be maintained and safe storage of any such recordings would be assured. Your permission and awareness will be maintained at all times and of course you can decline my request and your decision to not take part will be respected.
As a registered trainee member of the United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy and I abide by their professional and ethical codes of practice. I am working towards becoming a Certified Transactional Analyst, working closely with my clinical supervisor, gaining the required clinical hours, and preparing the required written and oral examinations.

The modality of training follows the United Kingdom Association for Transactional Analysis and my educational college is Humanistic and Integrative Psychotherapy.
